Over the years Bjørn Wiinblad has
worked in a multitude of mediums
including; ceramics, glass, silver,
furniture, poster design, book
illustrations, stage and costume
design, tapestries and textiles.
His work is inherently romantic, often
based on music, the beauty of natures
seasons and stories which we
remember from our childhood. His
work is exhibited in museums
throughout the world and he has won
many medals and awards.
The smorbrikke you see here
are a
perfect example of his romantic
nature. Each plate
represents a
different month of the year.
They tell the story of a couple meet
across the ice in
January. In February they go out and
party, they are married in March,
bickering in april, making up in may,
june they are flirting, July playing on
the water, August enjoying the heady
Summer sun.......until December when
their first child is born!

Red and White glaze.
